![]() The others early on all seem to have too many negatives. As far as I can see there is no numbered weight stat anywhere, so all I can go by is the small/mid-size/large on the weapons and assume it slows you down the bigger you have equipped.Īnd in terms of union formations I'm basically just having all the unions run the arrow one that slightly increases attack in front and def in back. Weight and turn-order is still pretty confusing. I'd like a Katana but I haven't found or been able to create a good one yet, so I'm just using a good sword & shield currently. I'm liking running him with a shield for survivability. I'm running Rush as a mage/mystic so weapon skills don't really matter to me and just the mystic attack stat & defense. Also for weapons I never have the mats to upgrade my weapons so I'm pretty much just switching around to whatever I find/get that is better than what I had. Like the class system feels very automatic and like I have little control over it so I'm just letting it passively do its class changes without trying to actively modify them. For the most part it's good, but at times it's a bit overwhelming. I'm playing using a mix of referencing guides in terms of where sidequests are and googling and looking up A LOT constantly trying to figure systems out. I'm also using a few speed hacks to speed up running around since I read the PS4/Switch versions have a run button added. I love how many towns there are and how by making everything small connected areas they were able to do lots of content and variety in locations in an "HD Towns are hard" era.Īlso the turbo mode in the PC/PS4/Switch version is a godsend for combat. The character/party building is pretty good and the art/music are good too. The story and world building, Rush Sykes aside, is much better than I expected and a lot of the politics feel like I'm playing FFXII or a Matsuno game. The combat is really fun with the way it weaves positioning like a tactics game into turn-based combat. I have about 3 sidequests left I think and then I'll get back to the Main Story Quest. I'm getting toward what I guess is know as "the end of disc1" and I've spent the last couple of nights exploring around the world map trying every area exit to discover new areas and cities and doing every sidequest I can find before heading to Nagapur. I tried it a little on X360 but SaGa games just never clicked for me until SF1 Remaster and now I love them and they are incredibly fun. ![]() Thanks to SaGa Frontier Remastered being excellent (best jrpg in years) and getting SaGa games to finally click for me, I started playing The Last Remnant finally last week on PC.
